Ok so if your from Big Spring, Texas and you know anything about movies, you know which two films were shot (or partially shot)in this small god forsaken town. The very beginning of Midnight Cowboy (which was the first film in history to win Best Picture and be rated X!!)was shot in downtown Big Spring, as well as some flashback sequences that were shot in Stanton. The second film was shot entirely in Big Spring, it was a weird government alien conspiracy film called Hangar 18. I've heard all kinds of stories about the making of the film, part of the spaceship from the film was fabricated at my current place of employment. Too bad the film was way cheesy, buy hey its cool they filmed it in our hometown. So here for your enjoyment is the entire film on an episode of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Its poor quality, but its funny to listen to the three characters make fun of this big block of velveeta.
