The time has come for a revue on the current status of the open source movie tools. So first we'll start with the amazing 3D application blender:

Okay so blender is whooping ass and taking names in the 3D arena, how about everything else? Well blender is also a video editor, and is extensible with plugins to do numerous applications. However, what else is out there and good enough for us to use right now?
Cinepaint has seen extensive use with the big boys, and the small houses alike when it comes to retouching 32bit per channel video.
