Now wouldn't you know, when Hollywood begins to see dollar signs in a certain ballpark, here comes the shit. After the millions upon millions made by Transformers (which was highly entertaining, I've never said that about a Michael Bay film), Paramount has set the film with The Mummy director Stephen Sommers at the helm. They don't have a script, just a "vision", and planned summer 2009 release. No script, a vision, but they damn sure know when they want to get it out there. I'm not much of a Sommers' fan either, The Mummy films had fantastic special effects, but they didn't do much for me (I still think Brendan Frasers' best work is in the Pauly Shore film, Encino Man).
