Third eye squeegee on all things old and new

FANBOYS HITS AUSTIN THIS WEEKEND!

Back in the spring and summer of '97, I remember going to see the original Star Wars Trilogy on the big screen for the first time since I was a child. The excitement of Star Wars was back..I hadn't felt it since I was probably about 7 years old. Then after all the special editions had been released, old Lucas announced he was making a whole other trilogy of NEW STAR WARS FILMS! Oh how all the fans went nuts...finally after almost 15 years all of the kids from the 80's were getting their wish...we were finally getting more stories from this universe we had all grown up on, and we were going to see them on the big screen. Little did we know that the new films wouldn't come close to the magic of the sacred original trilogy from our childhood. Don't get me wrong, to finally see the battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan realized in Revenge of the Sith was quite the treat, but there were so many things wrong with the new films that...well I just won't go into all that. Wouldn't you know that someone out there wrote a film about the hype leading up to Episode 1, and its taken them ten years to get it there. I posted on this like a year ago, but they are just now releasing it in a few cities including Austin, Texas, so head out to the Ritz Alamo Drafthouse this weekend and check it out...
